Hampshire Farmers’ Markets Reopen For Business
Since putting their markets and events on hold back in April, Hampshire Farmers’ Markets have now reopened their markets with strict safety advice being issued that they are asking people to read before leaving home.
Romsey was the first to reopen last Saturday 7th June. The Hampshire Farmers’ Market safety advice for those who considering attending, asks people not to go if they show any symptoms of the coronavirus and to expect to have to queue at the entrance, so that venues do not become overcrowded to ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained. In addition to the other standard government instructions that we are now used to, unfortunately the usual try before you buy offerings that we all love about farmers’ markets is currently not possible, as tasters understandably cannot be handed out.
After the Romsey event, Hampshire Farmers’ Markets reported immaculate social distancing and stall holders had fantastic results, not only for cash, but also moral.
Their next markets will be Alton on 13th June, Winchester on 14th June, Emsworth on 20th June and Southsea on the 21st June. Petersfield and Ringwood markets would reopen when social distancing measures are in place.
